Though this set of armor will cost you 75 pieces of wood, it is worth the 3 extra defense too. Once you create the gear you can simple place it in your inventory and right click to equip or you and just drag and drop the armor over to your armor slot in the UI. Make sure you place the gear in the far right slot as the other is for how you want your character to look.
