Be on the look out for surface chests. This isn't quite a surface chest but the only one close enough to spawn on my world.
Surface chests can have a really good upgrade weapon, a few iron or lead bars, a possible accessory, recall potion (hold on to those). and a few other odds and ends. There is only a chance of getting these so don't be bumbed if all you get is odds and ends
