All the iron or lead ore you saved after searching the surface has it's uses.
Once you get 15 lead or iron ore you will be able to smelt them into 5 bars which you will then use to to craft an anvil, all this can be created from the furnace. Anvils are important if you want to craft better armor, weapons, and tools
