Making Money

Hopefully you found at least 1 usable statue while you ventured underground, prepairing yourself for the WoF. If so than you can find a NPC in the dungeons that will sell wires to you. Buy a few wires hook up your statues than make a 1 second timer. If I am correct it takes 1 chain that can be made from 1 iron or lead bar, and 10 platinum or gold bars which you turn into a stopwatch than you should be able to make a 1 second timer. Gather some lava using a bucket place the lava in your farm and you should be set.

This event spawns the Slime king!

Searching for the Underworld

The easiest way to get to the underworld is by digging straight down. Avoid lava though by digging either left or right. Once you reach the underworld make sure you have a few stacks of stone or dirt blocks with you so you can set up an arena for the Wall of Flesh.

Collecting Bait

You will need a bug net which can be bought from the merchant for 50 silver coins. After you have that search around for worms! The best way I have found to get worms, is to look for them while it's raining. If you don't have time for that than you can destroy the grass and you have a chance to get worms and grasshoppers. 

Entering the Dungeon

The only things you really need to look for in here are water candles, if you want a ranger set; bones, water bolt; which can be found on shelves among the books. I know I will probably get a lot of hate for not getting a few accessories but I'v never had to use them. 

Cursed

  For this boss you will want a sizable arena and some campfires.

 You will have to wait until it's dark out, once it is, I recommend doing it when it first turns night but talk to the NPC walking around near the dungeon. The dungeon is always located on the opposite side of the map, from where ever the jungle is.

 This is the hardest pre hard mode boss fight in the game as you have to watch out for his hands too. Though you don't have to kill his hands to defeat this boss you can if it makes the fight easier

Time for Sight!

The ideal arena for this boss is just a flat surface the is fairly long and you just run back and forth until you kill the boss. Once this one is killed you only need 1 last boss, for the WoF! After you get your meteorite set you will see the game progresses fast! Not for long though. to spawn this boss it is easier if you collect 6 lens and find a demon alter which can be found in crimson or corruption biomes.

The Deathbringer!

This will become very useful once you reach the underworld. It will allow you to mine Hellstone, which with the meteorite armor and space gun you really wont need to worry about crafting anything other than a new pickax with the hellstone. 

Crimtane Ore!

We really don't need crimtane ore expect to make your crimtane pickax and a fishing pole, the fishing pole I believe takes 8 bars and the ax takes I believe 12 bars and some odd amount of tissue to craft. After you have those, just sell the rest. 

Our First Boss!

After you get your meteorite armor and space gun, you are set for your first boss fight! To spawn this boss destroy 3 orbs. You will only need to take out 1 or 2 more depending on how many you took out to get your meteorite. I would have to say this is the easiest boss out of the 3 you need in order to fight the Wall of Flesh (WoF). I would be easier if you took some wood planks and made and arena so it is easier for you do dodge the boss.  

Space Gun

Those this amazing weapon takes 20 meteorite bars (60 ore) to make it is well worth it with the Meteor armor set bonus... the gun no longer requires mana to use! 

Meteor Man!

 
It costs a total of 60 bars or 180 ore to complete a full set of meteor armor, though you will want to at least get enough meteorite to make a space gun!

Meteorite Bars

 It will take 3 ores to make a meteorite bar. You will see it doesn't take long to collect a good amount of meteorite ore! Bars will be plentiful. 

And so it Begins!

Hopefully you listened and created a small world once your meteor spawns, head back to the surface and search where the meteorite landed.

Once found, your may use your bombs as you may please. Be careful though as meteor heads will spawn and they deal a good amount of damage. I think you only need a total of 210 ore which really isn't that hard to get.

Floating Orbs

Once you get your robe and magic weapon, head to crimson or corruption and go underground to look for orbs. Use a few of your sticky bombs to get to the orb than use a hammer to bash it. Only destroy at most 2 orbs! The 3rd will spawn a boss which you more than likely aren't ready for.

Stick Bombs For a Stick Situation!

With the bombs you bought from the vendor, head grab some gel and create sticky bombs. These will come in hand while trying to collect meteorite! 

Bombs!

If you don't have enough money to buy around 50-99 bombs than I would go around killing stuff, picking up stuff from chests and selling unnecessary items to a vendor to at least get you by. Buy as many bombs as you can, if you still don't have around 50-99 than save up 50 silver and buy a bug net. Catch as many critters as you can, and sell them to buy the rest of your bombs.

Gold plating

If you have enough gold or platinum left over, go ahead and craft  a Golden axe at the lest. If you have a silver pickax you don't really need a golden pickax because you will use bombs to gather meteorite. If you want to be safe go ahead and get a gold or platinum pickax. 

Spelunker!

Spelunker Potions are good to use if you are having trouble coming across ores and can also be used to find life crystals, and chests! If you find any of these throughout your long journey to Wall of Flesh (A boss), I could reccommend saving them. Spelunker potions are very useful when entering hardmode to get hardmode ores!
You can also craft spelunker potions with 1 moonglow, and 1 blink root with a bottle of water. A farm for herbs will be coming up. It will probably be under my "Farming" tab I plan on making.

Mirror Mirror On the Wall

The magic mirror is probably my favorite item in the game because it allows you to return to your base and it isn't a consumable! These can be found in underground chests, located in abandoned housing. 

Housing for all!

Make sure to build more houses for more NPC's as some may come in handy later on in the game!

Know Your Strength

When ever you craft got receive a better weapon, I would try to find a biome with a bit strong enemies to see how well you do. If you kill them with no problem than you can venture off underground in that biome.

Loot I got today! 1-28-2016

I decided to take a stack of my Spelunker potions and have a bit of fun! I used roughly 15 of them, I had gathered a few of the potions looking in chests. Anyways here is the loot table.

I plan on doing posts over what I receive when I play from now on, unless it isn't really post worthy. Hope you all enjoy! 

Mother Slime

I don't have a screenshot for this yet, but be on the look out for mother slime. They are a big black slime that once you kill it, it will spawn 3 more smaller black slime. Some may be unaware of the other 3 slime. 

Bombs

When you get the demolitionist buy around 50 bombs you will use these to gather meteorite, which I will post how to spawn a meteor here in a bit.

Mana hungry

Collect as many start as you can! once you have 3 fallen stars you will be able to make a mana crystal that increases your mana by 20, mana cap is 200, so you only need 9 stars. You have a base of 20 mana

Robe of Power.

I highly recommend everyone use magic weapons up until Meteorite gear. The reason I recommend this is because magic users get a good boost from this robe, and if you happen to find Tim well he drops a hat that gives you even more mana and I think more damage.
Here in the screenshot I have the a not so good robe, but the mana reduction is pretty nice. I would shoot for ruby or higher robe. To craft this robe you need to have a regular robe which takes 20 silk to craft. Once that is done you will need a regular robe and 10 of any gem.  

Silk

Silk will become important once you reach around 20 of them it will take 150 cobweb to make 20 silk as it takes 7 cobweb to make 1 silk. 

Loom

The loom will be used in order to craft silk cloth. To make a loom you will need 12 wood blocks.

Sawmill

You will need to craft a sawmill in order to make a loom to craft silk cloth out of cobweb. To make a sawmill you only need 10 pieces of wood, 2 iron or lead bars, and 1 chain. You can make 10 chain with 1 lead or iron bar. 

It's in my Hair

Be sure to collect as much cobweb as you can! It takes 7 cobweb to make 1 silk cloth and you will need 20 silk if not more depending on the class you want to specify in. Ranged also uses cobweb for its gear.  

Better Pickax

Hopefully you saved up enough silver or gold ore, possibly bars if you found any in chests, to make a silver or golden pickax. Really after you have a silver pickax you don't need a golden one.

Damage is Key

You will want to craft a staff of some sort. Each staff will take 10 of some kind of bar and 8 of a gem. I don't know What gems make what staff. I do know the gold and ruby, copper and amethyst, I think silver and emerald, and I also think platinum and diamond. All gems can make a staff, just not sure what bars the others use.   

Use the E In SavE

You will use 15 of one type of gem, I was lucky and found emerald, but you will craft a grappling hook. To use the hook hit "E" on your keyboard. The grappling hook is good to save you from falling if you reflex is fast enough or it helps you reach higher places if you are down to low.
